Sat Aug 15thDoors 6:30 | Show 7:30$10 ADV | $15 DOS Woodland Creatures is a six-piece Americana band based in Pittsburgh, Pa that believes everything is better with three-part harmony. Their original songs are carefully arranged to showcase the beauty and power of their harmonizing vocalists, and the virtuosic talent of their fiddle and lead guitarist. While their songs are influenced by a variety of musical genres, they are all tied together with rootsy vocals and unique instrumentation. The Wreckids are a local husband-and-wife duo of Scott Peterson (guitar and vocals) and Sarah Siplak (viola and vocals) has long provided a charming live show, previously as Scotts Roger and now as The Wreckids. (You may also remember Siplak from Boxstep earlier in the decade.) How their live charisma would translate to a recording was the question in play upon the release of The Wreckids debut EP, Singing You to Sleep But Giving You Nightmares.Recorded by Donoras Jake Hanner, the debut EP mixes acerbic commentary, dulcet harmonies and plain hyperbolic silliness in appealing proportions. Playful, irreverent, sometimes even goofy, The Wreckids avoid reducing themselves to a novelty act through pure chops in terms of both songwriting and musicianship.

St. Gloria presents Salon No. 01 An evening where live music, design, film, and conversation converge. Inspired by the spirit of the modern flapper, not as a costume, but as a state of mind: curious, expressive, stylish, and unapologetically creative. This salon is an invitation to step into another era while imagining a new one. Throughout the night, our house band, featuring some of NYC’s finest jazz musicians, will soundtrack the evening as guests move through immersive fabric installations, curated film, and intimate performances. This is not a spectator event. It is a participatory salon. Dress is part of the experience. Conversation is part of the performance. Strict dress theme (mandatory): Modern Flapper. Think contemporary interpretations of 1920s glamour through tailoring, fringe, pearls, velvet, lace, silk, sharp suiting, and bold individuality. Come dressed to become part of the world we’re creating.
