Son of the White Mare (1981)

Prince Treeshaker sets out to defeat three dragons and reclaim a kingdom lost to darkness. His journey follows one of the oldest stories in Hungarian folklore. In 2020, the Hungarian National Film Archive digitally restored the film in 4K, scanning from the original 35mm elements and introducing the film to a new global audience, who were quickly enamored by Jankovics all-consuming effort to make every frame stand alone as a painting.
